Baby It's Cold Outside

So I've been really trying to listen to my body lately. I used to be really good about it but somehow that skill slipped away. For instance, this morning when I got up I wasn't hungry. I have been trying not to eat out of habit as well. I wasn't hungry until about 10am. Strange.

Since I was on the road to go shopping I had this guy...

Oh I know... Another peppermint thing. It was just ok. Not enough mint for me.

Oh by the way did I mention how cold it was when I got in my car?

36 degrees!!! I love cold weather. Something about wearing big comfy clothes and walking around with a mug of something hot... Definitely can't do that in the summer time. I'm also from Ohio so I guess the coldness brings back memories.
So the squirrel and I had this whole shopping trip planned. By the time I got to the first store she was passed out. I browsed World Market, Barnes and Noble, Williams and Sonoma, and half of Old Navy before she woke up. It was so nice to just browse.
I've been on this kick about getting people I know Christmas ornaments that reminds me of them. For example, we have friends that LOVE to barbeque so I got them a little pig ornament at World Market.
I also got the squirrel The Night Before Christmas so we can read it on Christmas Eve together. It's so neat to be able to start new traditions.
I spent awhile in Williams and Sonoma. I wanted everything but walked out with nothing. Too expensive.
By the time we got home we were both starved. I made us both grilled cheese with ham and turkey. Plus I had a salad.
When we were done with our lunch the husband called and said he was on his way home! Thank you Marine Corps!
The squirrel seriously took advantage of having Daddy home... (See her foot in his pocket? Too cute)

She was super excited to have him home.

Since he got home early we decided to into town. We stopped at one of our most favorite places to eat -
Kornerstone Bistro.
It ended up being a date dinner because the squirrel spent our entire meal sleeping...

We both started with drinks. I was festive and got a chocolate hazelnut martini...

I thought it was good until I tried the husbands riesling. I don't usually drink mixed drinks anymore so this one was just ok. His wine was DELICIOUS.
Notice his hand guarding it in the picture...

For dinner we both had the specials. That's why we love this place. We never ever get the same thing because they never usually make the same things.
I got the ravioli. It was stuffed with sweet potato and pistachios and covered in a goat cheese sauce. O-M-G.

I savored every single... little... tiny... bite...
The best pasta dish I have ever had!

The husband had a steak with feta and balsamic. It was really good but not as good as my ravioli...
Afterwards, we went back to World Market and bought a couple new bottles of wine to try.
Now we are off to bed... We've got a BIG BIG day tomorrow... Breakfast with Santa... Marine Corps style :)

Aww such adorable pictures! Love the excited faces and cuddling!

I am impressed that you like cold weather, I have plenty of it but I don't like it.

That's funny that you would go back to age 22. I was a first year teacher my 22nd year and I would never go back to that haha. 21 would work though.
