Baby It's Cold Outside

Finally! We woke up to frosty freezing weather yesterday! It's been chilly here but not consistently. I think it's going to stay cold now. I love the cold weather!

Since I noticed yesterday that my egg sandwich kept me full most of the morning I did eggs again for breakfast yesterday.

This time around was scrambled egg whites (I just use the egg beater brand), a little dash of S&P, a spoonful of mild salsa, and a tiny sprinkle of cheddar. All on a multi-grain wrap. Perfect.

I had to post this picture of the squirrels breakfast...

Somehow she came across the cookie container. She carried it around for awhile before we gave her half a cookie.

Plus she had some of Daddy's breakfast. A video of her saying "BITE". That's what she says when she wants something to eat.

(No that's not all she had for breakfast by the way)

Since I haven't ran in a few days we decided to brave the cold and go for a run after breakfast. Check out our squirrel contraption.

It really wasn't too bad out and she was bundled up well. But the wind was terrible. Amazingly, her wind shield stayed in place the whole time. She ended up falling asleep by the time we got to the end of our road.

I was excited to run... Can you tell?
We ran over 3.5miles and I wasn't even winded or tired. The hubs and I discussed my dilemma on our run. I need to make a decision. Either I need to pick up my pace and run 3 miles faster or I need to become a distance runner and start running 5+ miles. I need to decide soon because I'm getting bored on our runs. Boredom definitely decreases motivation. I need a new goal. Still haven't figured out what I'm going to do...

As expected I wasn't hungry until about 1ish thanks to my eggs.

For lunch I had an Amy's veggie burger with hummus...

Plus a "deviled pear". Just a pear with cottage cheese and cinnamon.

Now don't turn your nose up at the veggie burger. These are SO delicious! I'd rather have one of these than a real burger. No joke.

My mom texted me earlier in the day and asked if she could have the squirrel for the night... When someone offers to babysit you never say no. So the husband and I had an unexpected date night...

We ended up at our favorite restaurant. Kornerstone Bistro.

We started with bread and pesto

Plus we ordered the chicken, pesto, and gorgonzola risotto.

I love basil... Obviously.

I have never ordered off the menu. I always get the ravioli special.

This time around it was sausage and broccolini ravioli with caramelized onions, cremini mushrooms, pinenuts, and roasted garlic cream sauce.

Unbelievable.
I swear they amaze me everytime.
Every single bite is melt in your mouth deliciousness.
For dessert I had a bite of this little guy. I am a dark chocolate fan. The darker the better. I could probably eat baker's chocolate and be happy. I've never had Scharffen Berger chocolate before. It was rich and delicious.

Since we had the night to ourselves we decided to pick up some new wine and rent a couple movies.
Both wines we picked up were really good. I'd recommend both.

3 Blind Moose riesling and Toasted Head Chardonnay.

We sampled both but finished our bottle of Santa Margherita pinot grigio.

We watched Four Christmases with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn. Which was cute and funny. Then we watched Night at the Museum 2. It was cute and funny too. It was way better than the first one. We ended up having a wonderful evening... (THANKS MOM!).
Do ya'll have a restaurant near you that just amazes you everytime?
I can't get over that! I don't know where they come up with those recipes.

S. Berger chocolate is amazing, isn't it!!!

As for the paper sticking...no, it doesnt for me. I created these and can attest to the fact that no, if you use baker's choc and melt it and then let it set properly, no stickage issues!
