Ok now I don't really believe in detox diets. I do believe in eating healthy though... Which I haven't been doing lately... My detox day was just to get me back on track!
I started with an ogre for breakfast in a donkey cup!
This green thing included a handful of spinach, a frozen banana, water, a scoop of amazing grass, and a scoop of barney butter.
I ate light because I was headed to the gym with my BFF. We did a body pump class at Gold's and I felt great! I need to start believing in myself a little bit more and pushing myself a lot harder. I did light weights and ended up not getting the best workout. Next time...
Since I ate a light breakfast I was starvin' at 11:30. I keep seeing everyone's awesome salads on their blogs so I had to give it a try. Mine are normally SO boring.
Today I used romaine lettuce, roasted sweet potatoes, a cut up Amy's burger, and a big scoop of Sabra. Oh my gosh it was SO GOOD. It definitely kept my salad motivation going!
For some reason this little guy rolled onto my plate...
He didn't understand that today was DETOX DAY...

The whole time I ate he was watching...
After I was done I just couldn't help myself. He just looked so delicious just sitting there in his chocolateyness...

I ATE HIM! and he was darn good...

He was an oreo truffle by the way... The most wonderful indulgence. Part of my holiday baking from yesterday. After lunch the squirrel, my sister, and I did some running around. Petsmart and Walmart to be exact. Note to self... Never go to Walmart anywhere near Christmas. It is NO fun.
When we got home I turned on Christmas music and did some cleaning. I started dancing a little and the squirrel joined me. It turned into techno music and me sweating. I swear there is no better workout than dancing with a 22lb baby on your hip.
The husband wasn't home for dinner so I made something weird and random. I roasted an acorn squash with cajun seasoning. Then mixed it with broccoli, quinoa, and feta cheese. It was really good at first but I started to get a little gaggy toward the end. Something about squash. I have really really tried to like it because it's so pretty and good for you. I think it's the texture. I even tried to crisp it up a bit in the oven.
The husband's flight went really well! Thanks for the good luck wishes!
I am definitely thinking about some dessert... Maybe yogurt?
Do ya'll have any before bedtime snacks that you eat all the time? Mine would definitely have to be yogurt...

squash makes me a little gaggy when i have too much of it too! it's definitely the texture...adding sweet potatoes to salad is a great idea! hummus and sweet taters is the best combo. aww your little girl is so lucky she has a fun and fit mama!
the oreo truffle just looks toooooo good!
i always eat yogurt, kettle korn, and PB before bed!! :)
your lunch looks AMAZEEE
Thank you for the wonderful and kind comment on my blog. So sweet! Chocolate is my weakness... well, sweets that involve chocolate!
I do yogurt before bed (Greek yogurt) and popcorn (I pop it). Nick is a big night-time snacker, which makes it hard for me NOT to snack at night. I've been trying to cut it down a bit, and not eat anything about 40 minutes before going to bed.
Glad you enjoyed that dessert on your plate, rather than depriving yourself of it! Your live is a wonderful detox organ, it will help you out :)
I usually munch on some dry cereal if I feel like a snack before bed. I like the crunch!
This time of year seems extra hard to eat lots of produce. Wonder why that is? I've been struggling, too and I'm starting to feel it!
totally just bought some quinoa at Trader Joe's and am SO excited to try some :) lovely dish!!
A random detox day now and then is never a bad thing! Especially when it's so healthy and well-balanced like yours!
Haha, yes, I also suffer from the "not-so-exciting-salad" syndrome. LOVE your mix though!
xxoo

I usually don't eat before bed because I typically don't eat dinner until 7:30 and I got to bed super early...usually by 9:00..haha! But when I stay up late and need something I usually go for a small bowl of steel cut oats. Something about oatmeal before bed makes me happy! :)
