Happy Birthday Lily Mae

My cousin had a baby girl today! 6lbs 6oz., 18 inches long, with a full head of dark hair. She's in Ohio so I won't get to see her in person for awhile. I did see pictures though and she's adorable!

Anyways...

Since a commissary trip was planned for today I started my morning with overnight oats.

1/3 cup rolled oats, 1/3 cup plain yogurt, a splash of milk, half a pear, and a sprinkle of granola. It was really good and hit the spot.

I headed to the gym right after breakfast. The squirrel wasn't feeling too well this morning so I just ran 2 miles on the treadmill and headed back to get her.

We spent the rest of the morning at the commissary. We did a good grocery shop.

I was starving when I got home. Over the weekend I made lentil soup. Which ended up being lentil stew. It definitely thickened while it sat. I basically cooked chicken broth, lentils, wheatberries, carrots, onion, celery, broccoli, and a little bit of seasoning for about an hour on low heat. The broccoli became pretty much nonexistent but it was SO good. It was almost had the texture of oatmeal. So filling and so tasty! I topped mine with a scoop of plain yogurt.

I had a Chobani yogurt as a snack later on.
Yum... It's the first time I've had Chobani greek yogurt and I have to say it's pretty good. Oikos will always be my favorite though! Speaking of Chobani... If it isn't too late make sure you head on over to The Fit Bride and enter her giveaway... Who wouldn't want to win yogurt?!
I did dinner with a friend but didn't take pictures. Dinner was good but the squirrel is feeling worse. I think it's a cold. Blah. Poor squirrel. I'm determined not to get it. I've been chasing her around with anti-bacterial wipes all day.
On a good note... The husband got word he will not be deploying in January. Ok maybe a fabulous note!
