And some of my new coffee! It’s vanilla macadamia nut. I am a huge fan of flavored coffee and this one is really good! Kona Coffee Co. makes it and I found it at the commissary. They make a lot of other flavors so check them out!
Then we had another vet appointment. For real… They are getting old.
This time I had to take two of the pups in for heartworm tests. Here is where the rant begins… Number one I’m sick of dealing with vets who don’t know what they are doing and charge too much. Number two, I’m sick of dealing with dumb snooty college kids at the front desk. Number three, I have had my dogs for over 7 years and never once have they missed a heartworm pill. Why do they need a test done?
This time I tried a vet that my friends here at home recommended. They are multiple dog owners like me so I trusted them. I really just wanted to get my dogs established somewhere. Chowdy is already taken care of at a cat’s only vet (they are wonderful!). The vet I took them to today was great! Now it was only heartworm tests but they were really friendly and pretty cheap. Hey and guess what? Neither had heartworms.
I am really missing working at a vet’s office. Free exams, nearly free vaccines, and flea and heartworm prevention passed around like candy. Between working at a vet and the vet on base I don’t know if I’ve ever actually paid full price for anything. Plus since I’ve worked in the field it really pisses me off when I don’t see things done right.
By the time we got home and played a little it was time for lunch. I had an Earth Grains thin bun with turkey and Sonoma jack cheese. Those little cheese wedges are so good. Way better than laughing cow cheese and less calories! I also had a little spring mix, bean salad (just blackeyed peas, chickpeas, and pintos mixed together), and dressing.

I also got a cute picture of her in one of the cabinets. Hey whatever makes her happy! When I got home my stomach was a little upset so I opted for a lighter dinner instead of chili. I had a cup of cottage cheese with a pear, grapes, and flaxseeds.
