Peppermint Overload

Overnight oats are a mandatory breakfast if a trip to the grocery store is planned.

This blend is yogurt, rolled oats, water, flax seeds, and almond butter.

Since my friend and I had peppermint smoothies at the gym I've been on a peppermint kick. I stopped by PCJ this morning for a peppermint latte. It was just ok. Should have just got regular coffee.

Then I made the dreaded drive to the commissary. I don't know how my husband drives this everyday. It was so boring I was taking pictures...

That is it... For 30 miles... Nothingness...
I did a good grocery shop and since I don't have anything to really blog about I'll show you my cool finds. I stayed way under budget and got some cool new stuff. First up is a new cup for the squirrel. She only gets one bottle a day (at night) so she uses sippy cups for everything.

She approved!

I also got peppermint tea, a peppermint luna bar, and a mint chocolate balance bar.

I couldn't resist the balance bar so I snacked a little while I put up groceries.

The bar tasted really good but it was really hard for some reason. It hurt my jaw chewing it... Weird.
I also got pears... Lots and lots of pears.

The bag of all those pears was under $2.00. I couldn't resist!
And since I'm getting tired of oats for breakfast I found some good cereal/granola.

I opened both boxes to dump them in storage containers and had a sample of each. Both are SO good.
I've been trying to live a little greener so I've been saving all my plastic containers for storage. Check out my breakfast stash...

I eat a lot of yogurt...
Lunch was turkey, hummus, and cucumber on a sandwich thin. Plus a pear. Gotta get working on those!

After lunch I ran for 2 miles. I really wanted to run more. My Ipod died about 5 minutes into my run and the squirrel was sleeping so I was alone... In silence... No fun.
And since I've been neglecting my veggies due to the lack of groceries and moodiness I opted for a huge salad for dinner. Mixed greens with cucumber, ham, turkey, almonds, brocolli, peas, fresh basil and a little dressing. Plus some bread on the side for crutons. The mixed greens had butter lettuce in them... It's a first for me and it's really good! Soft and buttery!

I made some peppermint tea to enjoy before bed... Too much peppermint? We'll see...

Love pears and peppermint :-) You have good taste. Thanks for leaving that comment on my blog about shrimp with sweet chilli sauce, I will def have to try that!! I'm sure it's kind of obvious that I have a minor obsession with that sauce, lol
