Taste Buds... Where Are You?

I had full intentions of doing a replay of the last couple days for breakfast. My nose had a different idea. As I was making snacking on the squirrel's breakfast I noticed I couldn't taste anything. I think that is the most frustrating thing about a cold. I can deal with the body aches, runny nose, sore throat, and coughing. It really pisses me off when I can't taste anything!

It was freeeeeezing here in NC this morning so I settled for a bowl of oatmeal. Oatmeal, Smoatmeal... It didn't matter. I couldn't taste it anyways!

I used 1/2 cup rolled oats, 3/4 of nanner, and a tablespoon of Barney Butter.

I went back to my childhood with lunch.

I had a toasted barney butter and banana tortilla with half a pear. Plus some chocolate milk (amazing grass and milk)

For an afternoon snack I had an ogre.

Spinach, a cooked carrot, a frozen banana, a splash of milk, and some more amazing grass.

And for dinner homemade chicken noodle soup.

All I did was season a few chicken breasts and throw them in the crockpot.
Added a bunch of sauteed celery, onions, and carrots. Plus some chicken broth. (not pictured)

After it cooked on low all day I added whole wheat egg noodles.

Tada! Chicken noodle soup!

I'd like to tell you it was good but I couldn't taste it. The husband and the squirrel both had heaping portions so it had to be ok. I've made it this way before and it is usually amazing. The chicken just falls apart.

I did take an interesting picture today. Since the squirrel has been sick I mentioned yesterday using her old baby chair. I thought it was funny how she was sitting in it today...

How she used to sit in it...

And for an interesting video... The squirrel saying HOT. The little doll's light is really hot (she learned the hard way). She's been saying a lot of words lately. They aren't clear but she is definitely trying to say them...

video

I am really hoping we'll both wake up tomorrow feeling a lot better.

omg me too, I couldn't taste a thing tonight. It is so frustrating and it is so hard to be satisfied after eating when you couldn't taste any of it. Your little squirrel is the cutest thing ever!!!! :-D

Aw, your daughter is super cute. Amazing grass + milk is delicious!! I tried that once on a car ride. I stopped at Starbucks and picked up a thing of Horizon org. milk instead of coffee and just mixed in some choco amazing meal. mmmm =) The AG is even cheaper on that site I mentioned on my post today. It is weird how that works...hehe
