Tea For Two... Babies?

So... I figured out why I've been so tired lately... It wasn't the coffee. Well maybe it contributed a little bit...

I found out yesterday that baby #2 is on its way!

It was definitely a complete surprise. The squirrel was planned and this baby was not... at all actually.

Not that we aren't happy though! I got to tell the husband over the phone yesterday and he was really excited. Of course he is hoping for a boy!

I am definitely not going to return to this...

Yuck... I HATE that picture.

So I will be sticking to my 5 day workouts and eating healthy. Infact, I will be trying to incorporate even more veggies into my eating.

Don't worry, this isn't going to become a pregnancy blog. Promise. I might post a few things about it but food will still be my main focus.

On that note let's talk about food...

Breakfast today was 1 cup of
10 grain hot cereal made with skim milk. With coconut and Crazy Richard's PB.

Thank y'all SO much for your wonderful insights on tea. Obviously, I am going to have to cut out the coffee. I didn't drink any when I was pregnant with the squirrel.

I went on a tea hunt today and learned quite a few things! I get your comments on my phone so as I was searching y'all kept blinging in with more things to look for. It was pretty cool! You guys seemed to like the food flavored ones... Vanilla, chocolate, orange, apple, pumpkin... and green and chai....

So here's what I learned...

#1. Tea is EXPENSIVE. Every kind I thought I might want to try was over $10. Boo. Coffee is way cheaper.

#2. Tea is like wine. I didn't understand what half the words meant and I can't pronounce any of them! Sauvignon blanc - Rooibos?

#3. The squirrel doesn't enjoy looking at tea boxes for hours. She was done after the first store.

So... I ended up with a box of this...

I love the
Tazo vanilla rooibos so I figured I'd get a sample pack of the Tazo before I venture out too far!

Have you guys tried The Republic of Tea brand? I saw these 2 teas today and really wanted to try them... However, they were like $15 each...

While I was shopping around I spotted a jar of this...

And had to grab some! All you bloggers out there RAVE about this stuff... We love The Bee's Knees so I figured we'd like this...

We did a little taste testing when we got home... And sure enough...

WE LOVED IT!

Not sure which is better Bee's Knees or Mighty Maple... The squirrel isn't a big fan of the all natural peanut only peanut butter. So I am really happy to find something natural that she likes. I grew up on Jiff and she'll grow up on PB&Co.

So I wasn't a very good blogger today. I didn't take many pictures and didn't read many blogs... I will be better tomorrow! Have a good night y'all and don't forget to enter my Bobo's giveaway! It ends on Friday... I can't believe all the entries already. You guys are awesome and I can't wait to pick the winners!

And Marla over at Family Fresh Cooking is giving away an amazing book HERE

Congrats on #2!

Congrats to you and hubby on baby #2! Glad you're both excited :)

I also am curious about that Republic of Tea brand! When I was at our co-op the other day I was walking around with it for a bit, but then when the dried fruits and nuts started piling in my arms as well, I had to put it back. Just couldn't justify the price, and I'm quite picky about my teas. Was afraid I'd dislike it, even though it sounded delicious! (and...welll...it comes in a nice tin and has good graphic design...)

I've yet to try any PB&Co! VT is limited as to PB & AB selections, and since it's so expensive to ship (rightfully so - heavy!) new orders are few & far between. Just got some AMAZING Naturally Nutty, however :)

Congratulations!!! I can't wait to read about how you fuel your body during pregnancy.

Tea is SO expensive. Luckily, there is a discount organic store in my area where I can usually find AWESOME brands for $1.50!

Ahh! So excited for you guys!! Congratulations!

My (almost) 3 year old doesn't like natural peanut butter either. I gave him a taste of Smuckers natural honey PB (my fav.) the other day and he told me that he never wanted it again. Definitely a Jif boy.

OMG congrats mama! that is such big news! hey, i was planned and my little bro wasn't (my mom was preggo for FIVE months before she realized it, she had been on the pill!) and he turned out way cuter and more fun than i did ;). but then agaiin, i don't think you can get much cuter than squirrel, she's so adorable! glad you both liked the pb, i haven't tried that brand before but of course i want to!

Nicole @ Let Them Eat Lettuce said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply to comment]Best Blogger Templates

Congrats! i know you say you won't write much about this...but can I suggest ONE post about how you ate when you were pregnant with squirrel and such? It just sounds like (from the first photo) there might be a bit of a story there? Plus I'm not sure if you read my post a while back (like in December) about how a HUGE reason I want to lost this weight is to be healthy for when we decide to start our family. Anyway, just a suggestion!! :)

Tea shopping is pretty intense. There are just so many varieties and flavors to choose from...it can be overwhelming.

And I LOVE PB+Co. You guys should try PB Loco and/or Naturally Nutty. They are also super delicious.

WOOT!!! Great news, hun! I hope you do post some about your pregnancy! It'll be fun following you through it!

You can't go wrong with Tazo. The Republic of Tea iv VERY good, too. I've had a few flavours, but the ginger peach was the best. I'll have to keep an eye out for that chocolate one....

Up Fit Creek said... Best Blogger Tips[Reply to comment]Best Blogger Templates

Congratulations! I agree with Krista and I hope you *do* post about the pregnancy. It's such an exciting time!

I was a 6-8 cups of coffee drinker when I got pregnant. I tried to go cold turkey and it was really tough. I stuck with it through the first trimester, but started drinking 2 cups a day (3 on occasion) in the 2nd.

My doctor told me that I couldn't have herbal or green teas which eliminated half of the stash in my desk drawer. I remember tea hunting and it was much like your experience. There's so much to choose from and the terms can get really confusing. TAZO is always a good bet. The Awake variety is my favorite. It's the best coffee substitute I could find.

Wow. Longest. Comment. Ever. Sorry!

I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! (and secretly jealous... you turd! haha yes, i've still got the baby bug but I've been swatting it away every day!)

THAT IS SO FANTASTIC!!!!

Great job on your tea mission, as well. ;)

CONGRATS Kristin!!!!! That is such awesome news to wake up to! The squirrel is gonna have a sib! Can't wait to tag along and watch your day to day reports!
My RSS feeds have not been updating so I missed the last post....but here I am. Tea vs coffee...love 'em both but prefer coffee a bit more. Yes, my buzz has also slipped away, sadly.
The TAZO tea collection looks great, I will hunt that one down.
As far as the expensive teas...yikes. If I make 'em (which I don't) think I would throw a bag in a big pot vs. a cup and let it steep for a while. At least I would feel like I got a few cups out of a tea bag!
btw: thx for the link & all your great comments!
