Tell Me About Your Bread

This post is going to be terribly boring... BUT... I'M SO GLAD! Haha!

Things are back to normal today. The husband headed to work at the crack of dawn while the squirrel and I continued to get another 3 hours of sleep. Her and I woke up, enjoyed our organic cereal with milk, and headed to the gym! No eggs, bacon, cheese, or grease for us this morning!

It is so easy for me to slip into eating unhealthy. However, it's even easier for me to get back to eating healthy. I crave healthy food. I literally sprunge out of my bed this morning to eat my bowl of Kashi!

Breakfast was Kashi cereal for the both of us. I just did a mix of Cinnamon Harvest and Go Lean Crunch.

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and did about 10 minutes of arms on a really really light weight.

While on the treadmill I read a recipe for a Monte Cristo sandwich. It looked so good that I tried to recreate it at home for lunch. It was just okay... Only because I didn't have any of the ingredients in the fridge.

I did ham, reduced fat cheddar, thinly sliced apple, and grainy mustard on whole wheat. Then I dipped it in egg whites and grilled it.

The egg whites gave it a spongey texture... The flavors were all there but the bread threw me off. I tried a new bread this week by
EarthGrains. I'm normally a Nature's Own 12 grain fan but I thought I'd just try something new. I'm not really a fan... Sorry EarthGrains!

Oh plus I finished off the apple with some AB!

I guess I'll be doing my posts at lunch time from now on. I like that idea. I get to post and read your blogs during my lunch break the squirrel's naptime. It gives me more time and I'm not getting evil glares from the husband.

So a question for you guys...

What is your favorite brand of bread?

Like I said I like the 12 grain... I like anything that I can see the little seeds in! I'm not really a fan of Ezekiel bread. It's expensive and I didn't really like the flavor.

Trader Joe's makes a fantastic whole wheat bread without sugar, so I usually buy that.

Don't know that I have a fav bread. I like a dark multi grain bread fresh and warm from a bakery. I really like rye bread too. But also, a fluffy white French loaf is super with butter. My grandpa used to make a steller raisin bread and as toast, so good. I think i just like bread in general.

Now I need toast. :)

Evil glares from the husband...sounds like my life! I think I might do a post about this!

As far as bread, I do the thins and the la tortilla wraps. I usually don't have any other kind unless the hubs picks it up!

That sandwich looks good, I'll have to give it a try!

My favorite brand is a local brand and they make sprouted 12 grain bread which I LOVE! Plus the slices are small, so I can have 2 for 120 calories :)

Vermont Bread Co. makes amazing breads with no artificial sugars. They're thick and soft, and not too heavy on the calories!!

The thought of cereal in the morning always gets me out of bed too. I love starting my day with something cold and crunchy!! Hope you're having a great week!

I really like the 7 grain bread from the Publix bakery. I haven't bought it in forever though. Your sandwich looks really good!

I get evil glares from Andrew too. I'm starting to work on writing blogs when he's not home b/c it's not worth the huffing and puffing I hear from him, haha! ;)

I buy light wheat bread for fewer calories. If i wasn't worried about that, I would buy Anrold's twelve grain ...yum

I'm really not a fan of grocery store bread- I usually bake my own or buy from a real bakery. Whole Foods carries some really good sandwich bread, but I don't remember the name of the brand.

hmmm, I really like bakery bread - you know, the kind that has a crusty shell and is super soft in the middle.... yummmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Your almond butter looks so creamy! What kind?

I buy bread from Natural Ovens Bakery. Because it has no artificial additives or preservatives, you have to freeze it because it will only stay good for a few days outside the fridge.

I think they make it in Manitowac, WI.

I think I'm going to start grinding my own wheat and baking my own bread soon, though.

Bread is a sore spot for me. I love it! But I'm trying to eat gluten free and have not found my gluten free options. I am eating EnerG's light corn loaf now. Its okay, but not like sinking your teeth into a big doughy slice of whole wheat bread.

Udi's gluten-free bread is awesome!!

Hmmm...I actually really like Earthgrains bread, either the whole wheat of 3 berry, but I usually only buy when I have a coupon:)

The sammy looks awesome!! I love any type of bread, but I try to go for something that has whole wheat in it somewhere!

I'm not a huge fan of bread. That being said, I do like the heartiness of the Ezekiel products...

I personally alternate between whole wheat pita pockets and sandwich thins... but my all time favorite is actually fresh baked homemade bread!!! :)

I LOVE your healthier version of a monte cristo! I used to work at a restaurant that sold them and they were deep fried and covered with powdered sugar, yikes.
Favorite bread? Ugh, that's a tough question since I no longer eat wheat :( I haven't found a good bread yet, it's so sad!

I adore a good loaf of bread. When I lived in Sweden, I was spoiled with the best bread that I have ever tasted so I am super picky and will only eat bread from Great Harvest :) You should search around for a good bread bakery in your area and you won't be disappointed. Hope you have a good day! xoxo

I'm not really a big fan of sliced bread. We buy the nature's own 100% whole grain bread for my hubby. I typically eat whole grain or whole wheat pitas instead to reduce the "bready" tastes. Now make it an unhealthy loaf from the bakery and I can down half of it at once!

I'm guilty for loving wonderbread white bread =\ I can't help it!
