Scones and Randomness

Whew I finally got a chance to upload some pics!

I've been eating a lot of the same things lately...

Whole wheat bagels with cream cheese. One's with honey walnut and the other with honey almond.

I've been drinking at least one cup of tea everyday...

Lately it's been kukicha tea... It has an oaty taste to it. Really mild... not what I expected!

I've been making a lot of rice combinations for lunch. This is wild rice, black beans, and grainy mustard. YUM!

And we've been bumming it for dinner a lot. The husband has been doing a lot of night flights again... This is just whole wheat Boboli pizza crust, Bertolli pasta sauce, and mozz.

I finally ate my last Rice Dream pie. This one was just chocolate. I loooove these guys. It definitely makes going vegan more appealing!

The squirrel loves them too... She enjoys wearing her rice dream bowl on her head...

Over the weekend I finished my book, Bread Alone, and made a scone recipe from it.

Cranberry orange scones with pecans... WOW! What I love about these is I made the dough, cut out scone triangles and then froze them on wax paper. Now whenever I want a hot fresh scone I just pop the frozen dough in the oven. Genius.

If you are a foodie and are looking for a good book read Bread Alone... It was SO good! Romance, drama, food, recipes! Perfect! Plus it has a sequel that I'm about halfway through already!

And did y'all know I'm already 19 weeks pregnant! Halfway there!!! Here's a belly picture... No maternity clothes yet!

And a cute picture of the husband and the squirrel. She took her first swim in the water over the weekend. It was a tad on the chilly side but she loved it!

Sorry for all the randomness but it's pretty much how my life has been lately!

Oh. My. Gosh. She put the bowl on her head. Probably the cutest thing I've seen all day.

And congrats on the bun in the oven!! (Pun intended. You were talking about the book Bread Alone. Anyways...)

Thanks for the comment on my blog earlier today! I'm 95% vegan and trying to get better at it. Looking forward to keeping up with you!

Wouldn't it be something if our boys share a birthday?! I'm 19 weeks too and my belly looks about the same. No maternity clothes yet, but having low-rise jeans helps :)

Such a a beautiful picture of father and daughter :)

Girl, I swear if we lived closer we'd be great friends! I also like making scones and doing the freezer thing...and I was at the library when I first read this post, working on a project, so I checked to see if they had this book and they did! So I checked it out...can't wait to read:)

Yay for bump pictures! I still don't have one yet-I just look like I've gained some extra weight. (21 weeks today!) Bagels and cream cheese make this expecting mama a happy girl!

The scones look awesome. I recently had a blueberry scone in a coffee shop - they're so good.

LOVE the belly photo! I look about the same! I was thinking around 20 weeks I'd post one, so that's only 2.5 weeks away.
You look great Kristen!

Your scones look absolutely amazing!! I can't wait to try making a batch of my own.

I often eat beans with rice. I love it so much, but mine usually contains a lot of soy sauce. I never considered putting mustard in it before. Next time, I'm definitely going to give that a go!

You and your husband look great! No wonder the squirrel is so darn cute!!

You look so beautiful. And, the picture of your husband and the Squirrel is just precious. She is seriously the cutest little girl I have ever seen!!

I love Boboli whole wheat crust, Nick and I make pizzas with that quite often (although not as much anymore since I don't eat wheat!! boo). Mmm, the scones sound so good too! I had a scone this weekend, despite the wheat....not a good idea, but I think it was worth it :)
