I have been waiting to review it because I haven't had the time to actually use it. I got to use it this weekend and WOW!
It's the perfect thickness (1/4") and is extra long.

I followed the directions that came with the mat and washed it first in the washer.
I have had a hard time with slipping on my other mat. Not this one! I really think washing it helped break it in.
She also sent me a towel and a slip free rosin bag.

I haven't used either of those yet but they are excellent quality.
I love that the owner of Aurorae is not an instructor or a yogi. You can read his statement here. He just loves how yoga betters his body and soul. I can relate. I do not practice yoga daily. I don't attend yoga classes. I normally just do yogadownloads or make up my own stuff. But I love how it makes me feel. It is my quiet time. My time to do something for myself. Even if it's just 20 minutes.
If you are in the market for a new yoga mat I think you should try one of these...
Plus they are squirrel approved ;)

So sorry again for the lack of posting. I've been buried in this all weekend...
Have any of you read The Kind Diet? I had mixed reviews on it... It brought me back to reality with my eating. I really recommend that whenever you start to feel lost or out of control with food, read a good vegan book or blog. Vegans always help me come back to neutral.
I thought I loved Alicia Silverstone (Clueless anyone?!). I've heard she's done many things for animal rights and I was really interested in reading her book. By the time I got to the end she was a little wacky for me. I went to the kind life website and its true... She's a little wacky. Check out her video.
My eating has been SOOO much cleaner though now that I read it. Lots of greens and grains. Lots of fresh, whole foods. I feel SO much better y'all. I was in a junk food rut. Which may be another reason why I haven't posted much. I'm happy to report I'm back on track and feel amazing. Here's some of the stuff I got off my camera from the past few days...
Back to my ogres... And cereal with trail mix.

Cashew cookie Larabar...
Dakota bread with homemade strawberry jam. Cottage cheese with fresh pineapple.
Oh yes... Over the weekend I made my own strawberry jam! I just followed this gal's recipe and techinque. It turned out perfect and now I have Christmas gifts!
It has been so hot here. In the upper 80's. I wouldn't say so hot but our A/C isn't working. It's hot and sticky in the house. They are coming out tomorrow to fix it...
So today to beat the heat I let the squirrel play in the rain.

What a blast Mommy!
Hope you guys are having an awesome week.
If you've read The Kind Diet what did you think?

I loved the Kind Diet! You're right- vegan books always remind me that food from the earth in its whole, natural state is the best :)
I love my aurorae yoga mat!!
I'm so impressed that you made your own jam!! I love homemade jellies and jams!! :)
I haven't read the Kind Diet, but wanted too after I saw her on Oprah. I am by no means a vegan, I love my meat and dairy too much...so do you recommend? It's seems you kinda had mixed reviews.
Love the pics of Squirrel in the rain:)
That's it, I'm coming to steal squirrel!! haha. She is the cutest! Her and James should be bf/gf haha.
Also I saw Alicia on the View and shes a little too nutty for me!
I want to read that book! It is on my list. Thanks for the review.
I've not read that book. I don't think I'd buy it, but I would maybe borrow it from the library...
I bought the book back in March and read it really quickly. I thought it was good and yes, Alicia is a bit crazy, but I still <3 her!
I also read Eating Animals and I have to admit, I liked that one more because it wasn't as preachy I found.. not that Alicia is totally preachy, it was just different.
I have not read The Kind Diet, but would like to. I have no intention of giving up meat, but would probably find it interesting.
I haven't read The Kind Diet but have been wanting to. Sounds interesting! I don't really know anything about Alicia Silverstone, so it won't bother me much if she turns out to be a bit wacky! :)
i love that u mentioned vegans beinging u back into balance.. that is such an interesting thought! im totally agreeing with u.. i just never even thought of it. but thats pretty profound, no?
xoxo <3
I have never read it, but vegan outlooks really clear things up sometimes!
I hope I have a kid as cute as your squirrel some day- adorable!
Aaaw, Squirrel DOES look like she's having so much fun! It hardly ever gets hot enough like that here for my kiddies to play in the rain like that :( In fact it snowed today!
There is no greater childhood memory than splashing in puddles! The Squirrel looks like she is having the time of her life!
I haven't read that book, but I'd like to. I might not want to adopt all of her habits, but I like the general philosophy.
I used to love playing in puddles as a kid...kind of still do! Those are the simple things that make memories. Love the pictures of her.
I haven't read it, but I heard it's really good.
hehe, those pics of squirrel in the rain are awesome! i've looked at the book but haven't read it yet. love that yoga mat is extra long, and the rosin bag would be helpful, too!
I have that same yoga mat and LOVE it.
I've never heard of the Kind Diet book. I guess it's good if it helps get back to balanced, healthier eating. I haven't heard much about Alicia Silverstone in so long. Weird she is a wacko. LOL
