Potato Soup, Pretzels, & Popcorn

What a blah day y'all. It was chilly and rainy all day long.

Breakfast was blah as well. Two kashi waffles with almond butter and syrup.

It wasn't too blah because the waffles were covered with this loverly stuff...

My mom got me this for Christmas. No. 55 Butterscotch Almond spread. I used my last little bit on my waffles. This is the kind of stuff you savor.

Thankfully, we really don't mind blah rainy days. We take advantage of it and do lots of fun stuff inside. Mostly, it involves food but crafts as well.

Dinner was for lunch. Last night for dinner I made homemade tater soup with soft pretzels.

Looks pretty gross huh.

I followed the soup recipe except added bacon instead of ham and then used the bacon fat instead of butter in the roux. Who the heck uses ham in their potato soup? You've got to have bacon!

And lets not even get started on those soft pretzels. Christa over at Le Petit Brioche has got it goin' on. This is an award winning recipe for good reason. These little buggers will be a staple in our house.

While the husband was gone, squirrelly and I got addicted to stove popped popcorn.

I randomly ordered a couple bags of Boulder Popcorn, found a techinique online, and we've been hooked ever since.

Squirrel loves to watch it pop!

And I make little snack cups filled with popcorn, candies, raisins, nuts, ect...

That's what we do on rainy days. What do you do?

Cute popcorn cup. I think that spread looks very yummy too. It rains a lot during the winter on the island so I have learned to just ignore and keep going with whatever I planned on. I just gotta have my rain shoes. It took some adjusting too because we moved here from Vegas.
