Finally Back to the Gym

Last night's dinner was one of our favorite dinners as a family.

Grilled chicken, 1/2c brown rice made in the rice cooker, and salad (the kids had corn).  I made sure I stuck to portion sizes.  Half my plate is veg, 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbs, and good fat on my salad.

Plus I had 2 vegan peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies.

These are great.  I made them and threw them in the freezer.  When I start making dinner I take some out and they are thawed for dessert.

Breakfast was overnight oats...

1/3c rolled oats, 1/3c soymilk, 1/3c chobani vanilla yogurt, 1T chias, 1/2c frozen blueberries.

Amazingly, we were all up at 6:30 this morning so I had time for the gym before squirrelly had to be at school.  We slept in during the holidays so it's time to get back to our earlier routine.  I just did 20 minutes on the treadmill using Ida's workout:

Set the treadmill to a comfortable walk. I did 4mph for most of it but bumped it up to 4.2 for a little bit.

Min 1- incline 1
Min 2- incline 2
Min 3- incline 3
Min 4- incline 4
Min 5- incline 5
Min 6- incline 6
Min 7- incline 7
Min 8- incline 8
Min 9- incline 9
Min 10- incline 10

Then come down

Min 11- incline 9
Min 12- incline 8
Min 13- incline 7
Min 14- incline 6
Min 15- incline 5
Min 16- incline 4
Min 17- incline 3
Min 18- incline 2
Min 19- incline 1
Min 20- incline 0

Then I jogged the last 10 minutes.

I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks!  It felt great going back.

After the gym I snacked on some Kashi pita chips and Sabra hummus.

Mon, Wed, Fri always feel crazy for me.  I do the gym at 8, drop the squirrel off at 9, come home to shower and have to leave at 11:30 to go pick her up.

Mondays we meet a friend after school for lunch at Atlanta Bread.

I always get the same thing.

A balsamic bleu salad. It has romaine, blue cheese, tomato, dried cranberries, red onion, apples, walnuts, and balsamic dressing.

It's dreary here and the kids are both sleeping... Saaaay WHAT?!  That never happens... Headed for the kinect.  See you tomorrow!

What's one of your favorite dinners?
