Delicious leftovers topped with guacamole this time!
My friend texted me last night and told me she was going to body combat this morning at the gym. She's pregnant so she hasn't been doing many classes but she figured she could do combat low-key. I was so excited! I haven't done a class in forever and body combat is my FAVORITE. I haven't been doing any classes because I didn't really want to do it alone. It's always better with a friend!
Before the gym I had a protein shake (200cal) and a small banana (100cal or so).

When I do those high intensity classes I can't eat anything huge beforehand. My stomach can't handle it. Body combat is great. It's an hour of cardio (which I have to do anyways) and it's SO much fun! It's a mixture of karate, kickboxing, tae kwon do, and tai chi which pretty much makes you feel like a bad ass the whole time!
So since I've started back blogging I've lost 6lbs (I have a weigh in tomorrow) and I have a crazy amount of energy. I've known all along the food and exercise effects your energy but I've never actually felt it happen. That class was tough but I pushed all the way through and did it pretty high energy. It felt so good! I've also been a lot more energetic through the day. If you've noticed I haven't had much coffee in the morning or my afternoon iced coffee... I know it sounds lame but I'm getting my energy from the good things I'm eating and I'm loving it!
Anyways, after the gym I snacked on carrots, a peanut honey pretzel luna bar, and water.

And when we got home at 11 I started lunch.

Squirrel hangs out with nana on Wednesdays after school so it's just me and the little guy. We always just eat out of the freezer on Wednesdays for lunch. Nuggets for him, Amy's veggie burger for me, and Alexia sweet potato fries and puffs for both of us.
I took my new favorite of hummus and cheese to a new level today by adding a veggie burger.

Right now my house smells like cake. Off to make cake pops bakerella-style for Valentine's Day!
Where does your energy come from?

I've been feeling energetic too. I love when my body starts working with me instead of against me. It's awesome!
I want to try Body Combat.
@AmandaI love that idea of your body working with you instead of against you. I never thought of it that way!
You're inspiring me. I need to keep veggie burgers in the freezer.
Coffee and sugar are my energy suppliers LOL I really need to try something healthier.
There is nothing better than knowing that you are nourishing your body with good food, and then feeling the affects of that in your energy!
Also, I love Body Combat too! I used to do it tons, then I started doing kickboxing with punching bags and loved the satisfaction of actually hitting something! In my opinion, that's the only thing lacking from Combat...who knew kicking a bag could feel so good?! :)
