Oven baked chicken, steamed broccoli, and brown rice. This is a meal we eat all the time and we all love it. Even the kids eat every bite.
I had a restless night and woke up this morning barely able to swallow. Thankfully, I'm on a green smoothie kick so that's what I had for breakfast.

Spinach, banana, almond milk, protein powder, and peanut butter.
I had a session with my trainer at 8:30 and I didn't want to miss it. I did 30 minutes weight training with him and 20 minutes of cardio. I actually felt ok but I made a doctors appointment anyways.
Turns out I have strep throat. I thought only kids get strep throat?!
I've been wanting soup for a couple days now so we ended up at Atlanta Bread for lunch.

I had a bowl of french soup and two pieces of bread.
I've definitely been drinking my calories today. In fact, I've got a yogurt bowl planned for tonight's dinner.
Afterwards we walked around a little bit and did some shopping.

I am seriously hoping these antibiotics kick in asap!
In the past week and a half we've battled pink eye, double ear infections, 104+ fevers, and now strep throat. It seems as though we are always sick and we are a healthy family. We obviously eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, and exercise regularly. This is squirrel's first year at preschool and the kids do go to the gym kid care everyday but I really don't understand why we are sick all the time. I'm hoping the warm weather brings us better days.
How do you stay healthy?

I've always heard that once kids start going to daycares, school, etc that they bring home germs a lot more and households can be sick a lot. Not sure about the veracity of that statement, but I've heard it a lot!
I used to get sick (majorly sick, lasting for weeks) at least twice or three times a year, but since I changed to a plant-based diet, I haven't been sick once. I've really enjoyed that luxury!
Like you, if I do feel anything coming on, I usually turn to food. Lots of smoothies packed with greens and vitamin c normally does the trick!
Whew, sorry for the essay. Hope you feel better soon.
@Erin I am thinking the same thing about being in school and being sick. She's bringing home new germs that none of us are used to. Plus it's her first year so I guess it's inevitable that we are sick. It sucks though!
I agree with you on the plant based diet. It only makes sense! Why wouldn't you be healthier?
I'm so sorry for all the sicknesses! I hope you guys feel better soon.
Sometimes I think sickness is just bad luck. We are also a healthy family and my kids often get colds, ear infections, etc. Hang in there girl!
I hope you and your family feel better! I try to eat as many fruits and veggies as I can but sometimes I still get sick - I think there are just some nasty bacteria out there our body cannot fight off!
I am catching up on some reading tonight and I can tell you from our experince that everytime one of our kids were/are in pre-school we end up sooooo sick. We are healthy too, eat healthy, and all that, it's this time of year and germs in pre school are all over the place!
It will get better once thier little immune systems kick in and as for ours we are just being reintroduced to all the lovely kiddie germs. :-(
