Looking Up

Things are looking up around here. Since I got my butt kicked by my trainer I've been in a better mood and more positive about this journey I'm on. Maybe working out really does boost your mood...

Last night I made my favorite baked chicken. My mom had given me a box of garlic couscous so we had that on the side and some frozen green peas.

To me this meal is comforting... I don't need the buttery mashed potatoes or the cheesy mac-n-cheese. I just like that this filled me up and I felt satisfied.

This morning I drank my coffee while I made the kids breakfast...

But took my protein shake with me on my way to body combat.

I had a bunch of errands to run and I needed to pick up my mom from the airport at 1 so I brought my lunch with me.

Cheese and crackers plus cashews and carrots.  I snacked on this after the gym until I picked my mom up.  I liked the idea of having several little snacks to eat instead of just one big meal.

When I got home I also had 1/2c cottage cheese, a big pear, and some cinnamon.

I bought some green tea and a tea press today... Because I don't have enough tea... Hoping to kick this coffee habit!

Have you ever had to break a habit?

I also love eating "snacks" as meals. In the summer I always make a plate of fresh fruit, cheese and crackers and munch on them while doing stuff around the house. It seems to keep me full longer?
