BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
For the chicken I just smashed it out (as usual) dumped some sweet baby ray's bbq sauce over it and baked it at 350 for 25mins. The bbq sauce has high fructose corn syrup and isn't healthy at all but it's my favorite so I make room for it.
For the taters I just smashed potatoes with mostly chicken broth, a little almond milk, and a little earth balance spread. Almost vegan... The chicken broth is what makes the potatoes flavorful. The milk and butter make it creamy. My husband says I make the best mashed potatoes.
I was supposed to use leftover green beans from the other night but we ate them all! I took a shortcut and opened a can of no salt added green beans.
This morning my kids were sick so I skipped the gym. It happens!
I had a bowl of Kashi Island Vanilla cereal with almond milk for breakfast.

We made a quick trip to the store and because of the summery weather I got a little snack:

I think I'm on a processed unhealthy kick... Not really jeopardizing my weightless but not eating nutritiously. I lived on diet root beer and pretzels for a long time. It's one of my favorite flavor combinations. Steak and mashed potatoes, whole grain cookies and almond milk, and diet root beer and pretzels.
Speaking of snacks...

This is my kids favorite snack.
They eat multiple helpings of chef mix if I buy it. It's not so healthy...

They are offered a wide variety of healthy snacks. We even have a snack shelf...

where all of our nonperishable snacks are.

They will eat pistachios, cashews, pita chips, cheddar bunnies, and graham crackers.

Also, applesauce, granola bars, almond butter, and fruit leathers.

They also like raisins, triscuits, cheese, hummus, chocolate milk, apple juice, any fruit, and edamame.
We've tried the Annie's snack mix but it lacks one thing... The chex!
Nothing compares to that chex mix...
They are snacky kids so it's important for them to have healthy snacks.
Can you think of an alternative to chex mix?
What's your favorite snack?

Not sure on an alternative to chex mix, other than making your own. If you buy regular rice or corn chex they have easy recipes on the back where you can control the ingredients:)
I just recently (last weekend) put a ton of our snacks, along with pasta, rice, etc. in mason jars. Love them.
@Sweet and Savory Eats I think I'll just start buying organic rice chex cereal and see if they'll eat that. I think that's what they like out of it anyways. We put everything in mason jars. BPA free and they keep everything fresher because they seal better!
You could have a seven layer chocolate cake, cinnamon cookies laying around and I wouldn't even give it a second thought.
Cheez-its, pretzels or chex mix? It is like crack to me!
for me: trail mix (Homemade), homemade pita or ww tortilla chips, hummus, fruit, hard boiled egg, various nuts...for my kids: graham crackers, pretzals, carrot sticks, fresh fruit, yogurt and homemade granola, homemade muffins or granola bars, triscuits , goldfish...
Love the snack cupboard idea! It's so clever to have all of their options in one place, and you know that as they get older they can head there and always find something you are happy with them eating.
My favorite snack...hmmmm...does wine count as a snack?
Maybe making their own fun version of "chex mix" using ingredients you've bought?
@Erin Wine absolutely counts as a snack!
You are so organized! I might have to try the mason jars!
Just lovin' your truth through pictures. And your mason jars look amazing. So much better than my half-ripped boxes of stale snacks. :)
